The achelos management

Kathrin Asmuth

Managing Partner
achelos GmbH, Paderborn

In May 2008, Kathrin Asmuth founded achelos GmbH, a manufacturer-independent software company based in the German city of Paderborn. The managing partner has built up achelos into a mid-sized enterprise with around 75 employees that possess a wide range of skills in the fields of cryptography and security technology.

Together with her team, Kathrin Asmuth offers highly specialised products, solutions and services that help ensure cross-sector security of digital identities and embedded technologies in security-critical fields of application.

Prior to this, she held the position of General Manager Product Development worldwide at Sagem Orga GmbH (today Idemia) until 2008. There, she managed all international development units with around 235 employees. Kathrin Asmuth has expert knowledge in the field of security technology for embedded systems and has been able to incorporate this in a large number of national and international customer projects and expert committees.

 

Thomas Freitag

Managing Director
achelos GmbH, Paderborn

From December 2019 Thomas Freitag has taken over the role of Managing Director of achelos GmbH. As an expert in IT security, he has since the founding of achelos and especially in the last 6 years as its Technical Director, played a leading role in its continued development. To his current role, he brings with him a deep technical knowledge and spear heads the introduction of agile processes and automation. He aims to position achelos as pinnacle Product and Service provider in the field of Security, Health, Public, Mobility und IoT.

Thomas Freitag is a renowned IT- Security expert in Germany and has represented achelos at various working groups and committees. He actively applies his experience in client projects and thereby ensures long-term and sustainable benefits for all the stakeholders.

He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and prior to joining achelos, held a managerial role in the software development team at Sagem Orga GmbH, now Idemia. He was primarily responsible for the testing and acceptance of the German Health Insurance cards and for the development of the Smart Card Operating Systems like Micardo, Tachograph, SECCOS.

 

Felix Wolf

Managing Director
achelos GmbH, Paderborn

Felix Wolf joined the management of achelos GmbH in December 2023. The business economist is responsible for Finance & Controlling, Corporate Development and the Connect/eSIM business unit.

In the Connect business, he and his team are focusing on further growth with customers in the telecommunications environment (MNOs and MVNOs), building in particular on the leading SM-DP+ solution for the provision of eSIM profiles. In the area of cybersecurity and digital identities, the manager will focus on expanding strategic partnerships with large consulting companies in the technology environment.

Felix Wolf maintains an international focus. Coming from a background of diverse management functions in medium-sized enterprises, his experience also includes several years as project manager at management consultants Roland Berger, including in Frankfurt am Main and Dubai. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and a Master’s degree in International Management (CEMS) from the Stockholm School of Economics and University College Dublin.
