End-to-end security portfolio for critical infrastructures

Paderborn, 18.09.2023 – achelos GmbH will again appear at it-sa, Europe's leading trade fair for IT security in Nuremberg. From 10 to 12 October 2023, the Paderborn cybersecurity experts will demonstrate an end-to-end portfolio of solutions and services for security-critical applications. Among the products achelos will present are complete key management solutions for companies in the KRITIS environment and TLS test suites for charging communication of electric vehicles. Together with 16 other exhibitors, achelos will appear on the joint stand hosted by the German Association for IT Security (TeleTrusT) in Hall 7, Stand 7-309. The accompanying congress programme makes it-sa a trend indicator for the entire IT security market.

At it-sa, achelos will present complete security solutions for building or migrating existing public key infrastructures in companies. The aim is to manage electronic certificates automatically and securely throughout the company. The Paderborn IT security experts accompany and support PKI projects holistically. This starts with system planning and continues through system provision, all the way up to secure operation. achelos pays special attention to the integration of company applications, which are secured using electronic certificates, from IAM (Identity Access Management) to MDM (Mobile Device Management).

Secure data flow to millions of charging points for electric vehicles

The number of cars powered solely by electricity in Germany first exceeded 1 million in 2022, according to the German Federal Motor Transport Authority. By 2030, the federal government predicts that there will be seven to ten million electric cars and at least one million charging points. These rapidly rising figures, published on 30 August 2023 by statista, go hand in hand with increased expansion of the charging infrastructure and innovative charging concepts.

The new Plug-and-Charge (PnC) authentication method for modern charging stations is intended to increase data security as well as convenience. Here, the charging process starts directly after connecting the vehicle without the use of a card at the charging point. The charging point infrastructure is secured by TLS communication.

At it-sa, achelos will present an extensive portfolio of high-performance test tools and test suites from the TLS and IKE/IPsec field for securing networks. The company's TLS Inspector is a test suite for securing the charging infrastructure. This test suite will be introduced in an accompanying presentation in connection with a smart charging solution.

"How safe is the communication between the charging point and the electric car?"

In his presentation, Heinfried Cznottka, Director Security Solutions at achelos, will demonstrate a practical application of the TLS Inspector from achelos together with the Smart Charging Solution from dSPACE for testing the security between charging station and car. The presentation will take place on Thursday, 12 October in Hall 7, Forum C, at 11:30 a.m.
