Qumate offers quality assurance at the highest level

Qumate is the innovative solution from achelos for manufacturer-independent end-to-end testing of IT networks, products and solutions. achelos offers a large number of test suites for immediate use on the basis of Qumate. The test suites can be accessed either locally or remotely, which facilitates new business models.

Keeping an eye on the business process at all times

Qumate offers a cross-project view that depicts both the business process and the accompanying technical requirements clearly and logically in a tree structure. It is based on the Eclipse integrated development environment and, thanks to its modular architecture, can be flexibly extended with plug-ins. Qumate is an in-house development from achelos that is used in many national and international projects.

Qumate.Testcenter has a well-structured graphic user interface and offers a great deal of design freedom, for example for the reporting and logging function. Thanks to a high degree of transparency and excellent performance, Qumate facilitates test management at the highest level.

Qumate Workflow

The Qumate.Testcenter covers the complete test workflow from the requirement analysis over the test implementation and execution up to the coordination of testing activities and the result analysis. It offers various tools and solutions for rapid but thorough testing and a reliable documentation of all results during development, approval, and daily operation in the field. It uses centrally stored project data giving requirement analysts, developers, testers, and managers the opportunity to work simultaneously on the same project. As a versatile testing solution, the Qumate.Testcenter allows both functional and non-functional testing, for example security testing.

Using the Qumate.Testcenter in the test process

This overview outlines how the Qumate.Testcenter supports the activities of the test process (see ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level Syllabus 2018, Section 1.4.2).

  • Test planning
The objectives of testing and the testing approach can be documented in a structured test specification written inside the Qumate Requirement Manager. Configurable test specification documents can be exported.
  • Test monitoring and control
The Qumate Test Framework allows the monitoring of the test progress and directly summarizes and visualizes the test results. The status of the realization of tests can be tracked in the Qumate Requirement Manager.
  • Test analysis
The Qumate Requirement Manager that is used to organize the requirements and therefore helps with the analysis of the test coverage. If the test level is considered too low for specific requirements, additional tests can be directly added to the test specification.
  • Test design
The test design is carried out using the Qumate Requirement Manager. Test cases can be defined. Test fragments can be used as building blocks to be used by several test cases. Test data can be provided by defining parameters for either the whole test suite or a specific test case.
  • Test implementation
The test suite export of the Qumate Requirement Manager creates a test suite that can be executed by the Qumate Test Framework. The test suite contains test scripts (Java code files) for every test case. Qumate already contains a variety of interfaces to control the test environment (e.g., simulators) when implementing the automated test scripts. Run plans can be defined for the execution of tests.
  • Test execution
The test execution in the Qumate Test Framework uses a versatile logging and reporting framework. Detailed test reports are created for every test case to record the information about the test environment, the executed tests with actual and expected results, and the test result. Single test cases can be easily repeated as well as running a sequence of test cases defined in a run plan.
  • Test completion
The Qumate Test Framework prepares the data needed for test completion. It can write defect reports (in form of JIRA issues) for failed tests. The test reports are collected inside test sessions, so that for every test project a new test session can be used.
